Sainsbury's endorse the need for PCM systems - 18.10.07Head of Product Safety for Sainsbury's, Alec Kyriakides, confirms the value of Package Coding Management (PCM systems in advance of the Appetite for Engineering event next month in Warwick, England.
The manufacture of consistently safe, high quality foods at competitive prices set within a framework of environmental responsibility is a tall order for any business. Mr Kyriakides will be presenting alongside Claricom on day two of the Appetite for Engineering event and will be presenting the retailers perspective and expectations on the supply of safe and quality food.
Speaking ahead of the event (taking place in Warwick 28th - 29th November) Mr Kyriakides said "At Sainsbury we are committed to the supply of safe and quality food. Traceability is essential. Package Coding Management systems’ eliminate human error to ensure accurate date and traceability information. Removing errors from the supply chain reduces wasted product and packaging, which helps to ensure products are affordable. It also has to be good for the environment.”
